Integrated water resource management / Protos
The project was conceived using the integrated method (GIRE), with the aim of providing the population with the means to manage water resources better and in a sustainable way. In addition to operations directed at reinforcing capacities, there are plans to rehabilitate or build 60 water supply points, to implement (ecosan) sustainable sanitation systems, raise the awareness of the population (PHAST), and propose suitable hydro-agricultural improvements (lining of irrigation channels, “bourgoutières” - pasture under Echinochloa stagnina, aquatic plant found in the Niger delta-, ponds, market gardening, etc.)

- Main results
- In total, 45 bore holes have been restored or built.
New sanitation systems have been set up in 4 towns (Setting-up economic interests group, gutters' maintenance, clean districts competition in Mopti...).
50 ha of lining of irrigation channels have been realized in Kouakourou, 1 new market gardening has been set up in Sokoura and hedges have been planted in Sakarel et Diondouri.
Several trainings have been given for management comittees and water users associations.
