Conservation of aquatic biodiversity in Pacaya / Pronaturaleza
The project consists of, in the first instance, gathering information about existing pressure exerted on aquatic species, and the planning of protective actions to be implemented, jointly with the local people. Then a plan for monitoring certain selected species will be implemented with all of the partners involved in the process. Lastly, action will be proposed to strengthen the capacities of the reserve authorities in order to improve control and surveillance.
Furthermore, throughout the duration of the programme, awareness raising operations will be conducted for the benefit of the local population and the authorities.
You will find more information on the conservation of the sideneck river turtles in the specification sheet proposed by Pronaturaleza.
