Ecological sanitation and waste management in rural areas / WECF
This project aims to promote ecosanitation with action in one village in Romania and two small towns in the Ukraine. Operations to be implemented to achieve this goal include the introduction of ecological sanitation (especially in schools which serve more than one village), waste management systems and improving the population’s knowledge of the link between pollution, the management of wastewater and/or refuse, and health.

- Main results
- In Ukraine, the first ecological toilets have been achieved and opened to the public. Other installations are under construction (family and school toilets).
In Romania, the pilot project for private houses has been achieved and the public toilets are under construction.
In both countries, several awarness actions have been led.
