Treatment of wastewater in two rural areas / Care
Implemented in two districts in the Puno region, the project will provide 3,500 people with access to basic sanitation services through the construction of a water-borne sewage network and two wastewater treatment systems based on biological filtering. In addition to improving the population’s living conditions, this project will considerably reduce water pollution and will enable the benefiting population to play an active part in the positive change.

- Main results
- In total, for the 2 districts, 9 248 meters of water-borne sewage network have been built, 330 families have been connected.
In San Jose: 2 pattern bathrooms have been built and the residual waters are used to set up pastures and plant a wood of 470 pines.
In Choquehuanca: The sewage network has been connected to the wastewater treatment systems. A cleaning structure has been put in. The municipality has obtained the financing to cover the whole urban area of the district.
