Access to water, hygiene and protection of water resources / Initiative Developpement
The project will provide three rural cantons in the province of Guizhou with access to greater quantities of water, by means of hydraulic construction works (family rain water collection reservoirs, drinking water supply, spring water collecting, digging of wells). It will also improve the quality of water available, through actions to protect water sources, such as the development of wide protective perimeters around springs and water points, the building of latrines and bio-gas reservoirs or the setting up of alternative agricultural practices. Lastly, community bodies for water management will be set up and supervised in order to involve the population in water resource management.
