In 2008, the Foundation set aside funding for small projects, in line with its stated fields of involvment , which are aimed specifically at providing short-term support. This funding represents 15% of the work of the Foundation. Protecting species of animals that are under threat and/or about to become extinct accounts for 6.25% of the annual budget.
Specific criteria
The Foundation finances initiatives run by small and medium-sized NGOs that implement projects in the Foundation' fields of involvment.
The Foundation supports projects that meet its prequalification criteria .
There is no threshold for the contribution made by the Foundation, but the Foundation gives preference to programmes in which other financial partners are involved.
The maximum amount of money that will be invested by the Foundation, per project, is 30,000 € - for one year – as a rule non renewable. The total budget for the project cannot exceed 60,000 €.
To find out more about the prequalification criteria , as well as details on what the Foundation will not finance , visit the Selection Criteria page.
This information applies to both possible forms of investment provided by the Foundation.
Selection procedure and follow-up
The Foundation has two synthesis pages that can be downloaded from the section headed Propose a project.
Organisations can submit a proposal at any time during the year.
The Foundation will consult other financial partners and may obtain advice from one or more experts.
Organisations are informed of the decision of the Foundation, whether or not to support their project, within two months of receipt of the proposal by the Foundation, if the project corresponds to its fields of involvment, and is not part of what the foundation doest not fund.
